I remember this scene but really not sure if it was an ad, bit like the old Public Info Films maybe for drink driving, thou in browsing Ive never come across.


but I seem to recall in the 80s as a kid seeing on TV this mum pick up maybe two of her kids, and its possible she had been drinking, and you see them all in the car and a shot of the car like wavering on the road and maybe into oncoming lane as they go along it, like the mum was doing that with the wheel for a laugh, perhaps other cars moving out of way, then they drive round a corner and must crash, you hear it but we dont see this, the next thing we see is like a tyre that came off coming into shot.

really think I saw it a handful of times, but not sure if it was in a film or something LOL!

Sounds like a PIF. I check out PIFs a lot and am always coming across old ones I haven't seen or heard of before, so I'll let you know if I come across this.

Yeah, it does ring a bell- it's the tyre bit that jogged my memory. Illogical really, when you think about it- however bad the crash, I've never known a tyre come off it's wheel intact and STILL remain capable of rolling along!
There was another PIF similar to this one, which was to do with taking care while driving on narrow country roads- same sort of format, Mum's driving her Mini Clubman estate with the kids in the back sharing each other's sweets. Mini rounds a country bend, screech of tyres, CRASH, then you hear the horn letting out a long continuous beeeep as the film ends- presumably because Mum's body has slumped onto the steering wheel (hopefully just injured and not dead). Again, the makers of this one made a crucial error- the horn on a Mini is on the indicator stalk, NOT in the middle of the wheel, so it wouldn't go off however hard the wheel was impacted!

Roxy, think you hit on it girl! I now remember the horn too...........LOL!

that MUST be it but i just cant find the vid on YT, I guess, no-one ever had it.
