Found this from America while looking for a British Ad. Was it American Express when the bloke says '' Early Morning Tea?'' in a camp accent can't remember if he was Scottish or American. What made me laugh about this ad is the names their straight out of Toast of London.

I remember seeing those leaflets in shops to apply for an American Express card,they used to have them on display by the tills

the thing is I believe most traders didn't like it ;cos they take a long time to settle their accounts ?

And...because its a charge card not a credit card, you don't get the protection of the sale of goods act, etc.
