  • Robin "Wicker Man" Hardy dies

    Robin Hardy, the director of one of the most iconic British movies of all time (and a personal favourite of mine) - The Wicker Man, has died at the age of 86.

    He never repeated the success of The Wicker Man, although I did enjoy the belated sequel The Wicker Tree in 2011. He was, apparently planning a third instalment, as a tribute to Christopher Lee, who starred in the original and played a cameo in the sequel.

    Thank you Robin for inventing the very British genre of pagan folk horror.

    amazing film cant be many involved with the film who are still alive.

    very sad indeed.

    strange i never knew who directed it.till now.

    folk horror you could include blood on satans claw as such a film.

      Yes. BOSC is another great English horror film, as is Witchfinder General.
