Ronnie Corbett was another of the celebrity golfing set, even if he was mostly on BBC shows from the mid 1970s onwards.
  4. Re: Clothes from the past you would not wear today

I heard they became unpopular because people realised they would show when your armpits got hot.
  5. Re: RIP Richard Williams (Roger Rabbit animator)

Sad news, I really like Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

I saw it in the cinema when it was first out, & a few times on TV before buying it on DVD.

The mixing of live action & animation was mind...

News reader Reginald Bosenquet was another wig wearer, not because of baldness as such, but apparently had problems with an inflamed scalp which meant he had to shave his hair very short. Being a...

I remember Spitting Image spoofing the interview on the bed with Bob Geldof supposedly interviewing Nelson Mandela but bring more concerned about where his socks were!

    Re: Ott Adult Tiswas

The Word was eventually axed after too many complaints, but at least that was on quite late at night on Channel 4.

Sin On Saturday was on around the same time as OTT & was pulled from the...

Re: Wolfman Jack/Clap for the Wolfman

I don't know much about Wolfman Jack, but he was in a similar position to the pirate radio DJs over here by broadcasting rock & roll music from just over the Mexican border when a lot of American...

Re: which song gets you thinking about childhood

Not always, my brother's girlfriend's daughter are into 1980s heavy metal & britpop.

Luckily some recent jukebox musicals are a good gateway to some artists.

    Re: Mrs Browns Boys

A lot of the humour is generated when the cast start going off-script & confusing the other cast & crew.

    Re: Burt Bacharach

Aretha Franklin's version of I Say A Little Prayer is very close to perfection in music.
  14. Re: Usborne Book to Re-Issue 70s Ghost Book.

I've got a book that combines this with the UFO & Monsters books in the same series.

It gets shown on Film 4 or Talking Pictures every now & again, I've seen a lot of good old films on them recently.

    Re: The Krypton Factor

I remember a lot of the intelligence puzzles used pentominos. Supposedly these took hours to solve & were cut down to 5 minutes, like the assault course.

One aspect I liked was how the K turned...

    Re: Videoplus+ handsets and codes

I've still for a VCR with Video+ but I've not used it for recording since the analogue switchover. The clock was synced by a signal from BBC2 so it used to be very accurate.

  24. Re: Earliest Football Season you can recall?

My brother had the Pannini sticker books for a few years, you could send off for the last so many stickers but only so many could be badges.
  25. Re: Comedy Sketch About Bass Players - Possibly Kenny Everett?
