Re: I Have Just Thought of something.

Personally, I think that the 1970s and 1980s are decades have more stimulating memories to talk about on rather than the 1960s - in the 1960s most TV programmes were still in monochrome for example,...

Not surprising considering he had some odd parts.

Re: Bruce Forsyth and his syrup

I think that it was Wogan who had that - rumour had it that he had three different ones to give the illusion that he has regular haircuts and grows back again.

    Re: The 1960s

Ironic when one thinks that Brighton is associated with being a gay-friendly place.

    Re: Coronavirus... thoughts ..

I have always dreaded going back to school in September, but this was back in the 1980s and early 1990s long before coronavirus!

Funnily enough, when I hear of schools going back I think...

    Re: The 1960s

There were a lot of history-making events happening in the 1960s - Neil Armstrong setting foot on the moon in 1969; Yuri Gagarin setting foot in space in 1961 (and sadly killed in a plane crash in...

    Sticky: Re: Old catalogue pages.

A lot of classrooms at school had Xpelair extractor fans above the front door - with the switches next to the light switches. They were so noisy when they were switched on!

Re: Things you no longer see or hear on TV

The adverts don't smoke, and they don't advertise tobacco anymore either.

Of course, cigars and pipe tobacco was advertised well into the mid 1990s. Used to love that Des O'Connor / Russ Abbot...
  13. Re: Worst Attraction or Theme Parks You Have Ever Visited

I visited Madame Tussauds myself in London after visiting the Louis (now a second Madame) Tussauds in Blackpool. London is better of course...

I heard that the Great Yarmouth one closed due to one...

    Re: Britain in the 60s

The only red label Parlophone record that my parents had was Mike Sarne's Come Outside which I believe it got to number one?
  15. Re: why can't i post or unload photographs anymore to DYR?

I won't have anything to do with Photobucket after what happened a year or so back.

Re: Bob Grant ( TV Actor)

Did he get any further acting parts after OTB? I don't remember seeing anything with him in afterwards. No wonder he took his own life.

I would have regarded him as a Robin Askwith-type actor...

Why are Walkers disgusting, may one ask?

The did do some weird flavours in their Do Us a Flavour campaign a few years back - perhaps that is why they are disgusting?

Re: Sunday afternoons on Radio 2

Were the Grumbleweeds actually on Sunday afternoons? They may have been repeated on Sundays, but I thought that it was usually on Friday nights around 10.00 pm.

How long have Doritos been around? - I know they were advertised from the early 1990s onwards, and I believe that they were American in origin.

I like to get a big packet of Doritos and dip them...

  25. Re: Shirt signing day and/or last day "celebrations"
