Re: RIP Terry Jones of Monty Python fame

I can't believe this. He was one of my heroes. Met him a few times and he was just a lovely man.

Does anyone remember a PIF maybe from the late '70s, opening on a beach, where a voiceover says something like 'some time ago, a little girl ran down to the sea. Now she is dead.' I seem to remember...

Re: Adverts that terrified you as a kid

There used to be a '70s advert for toothpaste, or regular dental visits, something like that, with cartoon jungle animals - the lion with the throbbing tooth used to scare the hell out of me!

I had a couple of pairs of Clarks when I was a kid. I remember the advert, though, the little girl's voice used to drive my father up the wall, so I imitated her a lot just to wind him up...:D
