    Re: RIP Albert Uderzo

Sad news, I knew he had stopped drawing & writing a few years ago, & passed Asterrix onto some younger artists & writers.

I've been watching this & enjoying it.

All the Back In Time shows have been good so far.
  3. Re: TV Progs that had good Series - but then somehow "jumped the shark" as it whe

A few 1990s Sitcoms ran for too long & the later series were a lot weaker because the writers had run out of ideas. Bread, The Brittas Empire & 2.4 Children are all guilty of this.

  6. Re: Name that show: Children's 80s show about a child befriending an alien

Thanks, I'm happy to help jog people's memories if I can.

I never knew there was another show with the same name.
  7. Re: Name that show: Children's 80s show about a child befriending an alien

Aliens In The Family was made in 1987, I can remember when the alien called Bond is looking for a radio & takes interest in a ghetto blaster playing Kim Wilde's version of You Keep Me Hanging On.

  8. Re: The Feelings of not knowing certain Episodes of a TV Prog for years

Somehow I kept missing the episode of Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em where Frank Spencer keeps annoying his neighbour who is trying to write a script.

This show was repeated a few times in the 1980s-90s...

I'm surprised she didn't release Midnight Fantasy as a single as it's better than a few songs that were.

    Re: Coronavirus... thoughts ..

Certainly the Chinese were slow to respond to the reports from the doctor in China who first reported it.

I remember Denis Taylor being in an advert for the Today newspaper, putting on a massive pair of his trifocals & playing at a snooker table with far more reds in the triangle as usual.
  14. Re: Ads That Stick in Your Mind But You Can't Find

Over the years I've seen plenty of early adverts used on programmes over the years.

As they are mostly made on film they seem to have been put into storage by the ad agencies when their campaigns...

    Roof Racks

I remember at one time almost every other car owner seemed to have one of these.

I remember there was a worry about 30 years ago that dog dirt was spreading something that would make you go blind if you got it in your eye.
