Re: Worst programme you have seen

I bet that the majority of worst programmes have been made and transmitted since 2000 rather than before then - what is it about the incumbent "everything goes" era of Ofcom and the way that...

I was going to put "cow" on here but one doesn't find them in zoos.

Re: Adverts that terrified you as a kid

That's interesting - I don't think that I would find cartoons scary in that respect. I never found Tom and Jerry violent for example.

    Re: favourite musical films

I noticed that Gentleman Prefer Blondes is on one of the Channel 4 owned movie channels on Monday - I love that courtroom scene with Monroe sitting down in that brown mink coat that she is wearing.
  5. Re: Films given a different rating by the local town council than by the BBFC

I would be surprised if the Jaws films were a PG (the post 1982 certificate) when they are released.

    Re: Crown Court

I used to think of it as ironic when soaps and drama series would do court scenes as of course, TV cameras cannot film in courtrooms.

Now, of course, there will be changes in the law which will...

Re: Worst programme you have seen

I don't watch Reality TV, or EastEnders, or any programme where people are victimised for the sake of entertainment.

    Re: This Morning

It was a better programme when Richard and Judy presented it and it was about mothers and babies and the like, and nothing like the Hello! magazine show it is now.

    Re: Tales of the unexpected

It was a series which was Britain's answer to Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and it first went on air just before Hitchcock passed away - I am surprised that Roald Dahl got his work on there considering...

    Re: Terry scott

So it did precede it - was that Scott and Whitfield's first project working together, I wonder? They weren't husband and wife in real life, I don't think...

Matthew Kelly is still around, although he is just an actor these days - I have a feeling that someone like Rylan Clark-Neal will have a stint on the show if it did come back...

    Re: The Good Old Days

Agreed - proper inoffensive light entertainment for all the family. The problem is that we left it all behind in the 20th century.

    Re: The Good Old Days

The Nottingham Theatre Royal also opened in around 1865, and in fact, on the front pages of The Times in the early 19th century, they mention London theatres with plays and that happening there. I...

    Re: Brotherhood Of Man

I always think of the Brotherhood of Man as the British ABBA - Eurovision really helped them when it came to getting a good profile in the latter half of the 1970s.

The thing about jotters is that they weren't much different to exercise books - why not write you work in an exercise book instead?

    Tea or Coffee?

For my 3,000th post on DYR, I thought that I would ask one of the most obvious questions when it comes to putting the kettle on...

The $64,000 question: are you a tea or a coffee person?

    I am...

Re: 25 Years since leaving school
