Re: 8 days to the moon

These are the sort of events that got me interested in Physics and Astronomy. I then went on to become a Scientist.
In a age where fewer students go on to study Science in further education. This...

    Re: Grange hill

The funniest scene was when the African girl use to keep following Roland. I use to always wonder if it was the case that she fancied him or had no one else to hang out with.

Re: Name Your Top 5 Classic Films

Far too difficult, as there are many films that I have really enjoyed but some I cannot recall here.
So, I will state the films I have seen the last few months that I have very much liked:...

Re: Tv programmes that would not be shown today

But Mike Yarwood had to display a good impersonation to succeed. Tommy Cooper had to fumble the magic trick to succeed.
Actually, Coope's tricks didn't really go wrong, it is just the manner in...

Re: Tv programmes that would not be shown today

Two I have fond memories of watching: Mind Your Language and It ain't half hot mum.
Brilliant shows but sadly in today's world considered politically incorrect.

Re: Teachers who had left the school

I distinctly recall like it was yesterday. In 1978 in the classroom, a temp teacher addressed the class. He had red watery eyes. He stated that the deputy head Mr x had died of a heart attack during...

Re: Long distance radio stations picked up

In the early 80s use to listen to Radio Laser and Radio Caroline. Both, I think we're illegal broadcast on ships; probably outside British waters.

    Sticky: Re: Crisps

That's the picture of the crisps. I would have thought it would be more popular now as there are concerns about salt content in foods. But of course it will not work, as it gives the consumer a...

    Re: Eurovision song contest

I watched the scoring session only and avoided listening to the music, as I find it absolute rubbish. For the UK things were not looking too bad as we were 3rd from bottom! Then at the final stage of...

    Sticky: Re: Crisps

When I was a child I recall eating crisps made by Golden Wonder. There was also a brand of crisps which contained a shachet of salt, which could be added at the desired amount.

Re: S and H or The Pros

Both ran for 4 series but Starsky and Hutch amassed nearly twice as many episodes (92).
I loved the Ford Torino. I use to have a friend who had a red Ford Capri with a similar white strip.
