Jamiroquai's one of those bands I didn't really pay any attention to. A while back I happened across a greatest hits or something of theirs and I didn't realise how many good songs they had kicked out. This era is full of artists who just seemed to be chugging away kicking out singles that people ignored, only to discover further down the line when the inevitable greatest hits come out with about 20 songs on that you like. The bassist seems particularly talented, he can make them strings slap and pop with the best of them. A lot of songs where they feature a lot of the funk comes from that musicians hands

Something that I do remember is the awesome music videos they kicked out. Along with JK's weird dancing and massive hat. He doesn't so much as dance as sort of glide around the room like somehow he's altering gravity. Check this out, I'm sure this melted many peoples minds when it was released.

My favourite song of theirs is Deeper Underground. Musically it isn't that great, but the snarling gain coming through the amps makes the hairs stand up on the back of my neck. I thought this song was a lot younger. It hasn't really aged that much.

And lest not forget, they sound tracked one of the best scenes in any film ever.

I sort of wish they would release a "best of" for Rock Band so I could play these songs on my little plastic instruments. It's a travesty they have not already done it.
