  • Peach Melba

Just been reading the Supermousse thread, which twigged my memory. The corner shop near me also sold a tub called Peach Melba, which consisted of ice cream over an inverted peach half. Anyone remember these?

      Wow,
      An absolute favourite of mine.
It had lovely raspberry sauce around the peach.
I've said it before but........ I'd love to eat one right now.

          Re: Peach Melba

To me a peach melba was always the little cake thing...pastry case filled with cream and a bit of peach and topped with a layer of peach coloured icing. That was until last year when I ordered a peach melba in a tea room and got this whole peach + ice cream + sauce in a knickerbocker glory type glass. I was very disappointed. I wanted my little cake.

I thought they were mad but seeing this thread it seems that this version of a peach melba is well known! Where have I been to have missed it all these years?
