anyone get this for Christmas in the 1980's? and what did you think of it?

i did and i found very disappointing,i remember my mum getting angry because i was more into the box than the actual toy,the artwork on the box was amazing.

My Mum and Dad hated this stuff-especially the toys which they thought were ugly. I did end up with both HE MAN and SKELETOR from the range, these being the original versions long before they did the ones with battle damage chests or Thunderpunch He-Man or Dragon Blaster Skeletor....I do now look at MOTU as a massive toy range, it showed how BIG financially certain lines were in the mid 1980s, the bigger the profits year on year the BIGGER the toys and figure range got....a good example of this is the release of the Eternia Playset which had THREE towers interconnected with a monorail system and it was one BIG set. In G.I.JOE they released a 3 1/2 foot long Aircraft Carrier for the figures in 1985/86! Such toylines will never sadly recoup their former glory days, not unless they really do it well.
