Box of Delights

I recall a show in the 80s when I was a youngster - that had an old guy, a magic box and was a bit "magical" in the theme of it - but cannot clearly recall it.
Stumbled across this which could well fit the bill - but not entirely sure (I thought the magic box was a bit bigger) but the rest of the show seems to fit the bill.
Does anyone else recall something like this?

Loved this ! I watch it every Christmas. There's just something so magical and Christmassy about it. I used to have the VHS tape of it but now transferred it to dvd. Not sure if there's been an official BBC release yet though.

yeah, remember watching this a lot although, for some reason, I only have a strong memory that there was a story to do with tumbleweeds in it, is that correct ??

I remember this also, kid was called Kay Harker I believe.

I now have it on DVD and it's normally put on during christmas.

I also love this show and with The Children of Green Knowe is one of my Christmas staples. Although I've seen this many times now the story seams to evade me and i just love it for its nostalgia and that its Christmassy. Any one got a better idea. I even bought the book to see if this would clear a few things up, however only managed to read about 50 pages, was like reading the Bible ( not meant to offend).

Not actually sure what you are asking to be honest daddymac. Are you asking for any other kids dramas like this or asking for someone to explain the box of delights/green knowe story to you?
