  • The British

Hitting the shops around now is a new humour book called 'The British - An Awfully Useful Guide' by Toby Hill, and published by Summersdale. Now, I'm not normally in the habit of suggesting reading material, but I wanted to mention it, as I'm the illustrator who has fully furnished it with my hand-drawn visuals, and it should have a certain resonance to members of the DYR forum, as my '70s/'80s influence can clearly been seen in some of the illustrations - the cars I've depicted, for instance, are almost all from then (and yes, there is an Austin Maxi), and there's a 'Carry On'-style scene, old-style TVs, breeze-block '80s mobile phones, and so on. If you check it out, I hope you like it.
