I've always liked Steve Wright, but in the 70s, probably DLT and Noel Edmonds.

I'd have to say it was John Peel- he used to give a lot of airplay to Welsh bands in the '80s at a time when everybody else on Radio 1 thought that everything to do with Wales was just a joke. I also like Alex Lester on Radio 2.

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

I liked Mark Radcliffe's show, "Out on Blue Six", then when he took over from Nicky Campbell between 10pm and midnight.
I also liked Nicky Campbell too.
            And Anne Nightingale's request show.

              Just remembered:

              John Peel

He was the one who would play tapes from unsigned bands

He probably did, but you might be thinking of Bob Harris.

Alex Dyke, originally of Isle of Wight Radio uk

He used to do a lunchtime phone in, until he was sacked for being too controversial

He now presents 'Bubble gum & Cheese' show mornings on BBC Radio Solent

(The name 'Bubble Gum & Cheese; refers the 'cheesy' records he plays from the sixties & seventies)

Used to love Steve Wright and the Posse in the afternoons with the various characters that appeared.
Nicky Campbell was great with his interviews as well
Bruno & Liz were funny on the weekends.
