    The first season was shown on Tuesdays at 10:00 p.m. and the rest of the series was shown on Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m.
    saint elsewhere won 13 emmy awards.

    the show is still very highly regarded to this day.

    certain storylines could run for many episodes and even into later seasons.

    I absolutely loved this series. I think I must have seen every episode. I especially liked William Daniels. Brilliant actor.

      its on channel 4 late at night.
      its shown every few yrs right through mate.

      Yes william is a fine actor.
      Very hard on the outside but after his granddaughter barbara is born he softens up.

      Other fine actors are denzel washington who went on to do the film philadelphia.

      One story that was relevant to those days was that of mark harmon.

      HE played dr caldwell who messed around to much and contracted hiv.
      remember hiv was huge at that time.

        Yes, they certainly had some heavy storylines. But some comedy relief too, usually from Howie Mandel's character who was in lust with the woman from the mortuary. Did you know that Norman Lloyd is still around? He is 97! His wife of 75 years died last August, and some say it was the longest marriage in showbiz history.

          william daniels is still alive he is 84.
          And guess what his wife in real life is his wife in st elsewhere thats bonnie bartlett.
          they have been married since 1951

            and good old ed begley as dr erhlich he was a walking comedian.
            he was always being sarcastic.
            how did he become a dr.

            ed begley lr is also an environmentalist.

                Helen hunt was also in it.
                she was in eight episodes between 84 and 86.
                she played clancey williams.
