It only recently occured to me that the main male characters - Tom Good (Richard Briers), and Jerry Leadbetter (Paul Eddington) were, collectively - Tom & Jerry! I presume that was deliberate.

I know that The Good Life, had a great cast and I really rate Penelope Keith, but as much as i've tried through the years I only can like it for say 10 minutes at a time or so or a full episode if i'm lucky - in a way it was just a programme I never could get into or grasp the "comedy" of it. As much as Penelope was great in The Good Life I thought she was even better in the programme about the mansion she was in as opposed to The Good Life.

Felicity Kendall was a child crush of mine. I never really understood why she was with Tom story wise, you think she'd of done a bit better for herself.

I think it was because she saw the child in Tom and was drawn towards it.
