For many years I have been having visions of a sci-fi movie I viewed as a kid (I was born in 1984 which should help situate the timeframe). It's difficult to know how much of it is borne of imagination or mixed memories, but my intuition suggests it was a movie - I can vividly recall enacting scenes of it with my friends, taking up specific character roles, and so on.
All I recall is that the movie had a dystopian flavour. I don't know if the characters were in some kind of future landscape (my gut says they were) here on earth or whether they were in some kind of special zone. I do feel that it did not take place on a different planet, etc.
Each character followed a kind of general template - the bulky, brawny guy who I think had some kind of large weapon, at least one woman who may have been sharp/intelligent, and perhaps one either main character, with a possible fourth I can't recall.
They seemed to be in some kind of large-scale battle, against the odds, kind of war. The movie definately had comic elements, but was not overly a comedy.
I realise this is intensely vague. My one scene-recall is about the brawny guy in a scene of relative devastation (a kind of terminator vibe, blueish scene with metallic surroundings) perhaps making a wise-crack to another team member. He has a weapon of some kind, perhaps prosthetic.
