Hmmmm, it's from a long time ago, but my memory is telling me that this is an edited version too.
I also remember the demonic face coming towards the car.
Keep hunting guys, it's got to turn up sometime.
Still, it's great to see even the edited version.

Done a bit of research,and the advert was indeed originally aired in 1983 (See below link for proof)

Im going to have a marathon search through Youtube to try and locate the original 1983 version of the advert in all of its 'scary demon's face comming towards the car windscreen' glory.
This is the internet.....It HAS to be out there somewhere!!

That's the shorter edited version of the advert.
The original version was banned due to complaints about it being too scary,and it aired years earlier in around 1982 or 83.
The longer version of the ad had a Demonic face comming towards the car windscreen,and when the dude slams on the breaks the car found itself in the safety of a petrol station forecourt.
This version here was edited and they removed the demonic face and replaced it with the large truck.
The original MUST be out there somewhere.

The driver is none other than Tim Healy of Auf Weidersehen Pet.
You are corret about the scary bit. There must be a copy out there of the original on the net.

Did you notice the driver was Tim Healy best known for playing Dennis in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet, and Les Benidorm.
