  • A Touch of Frost...?

Anyone else like this show? Some great storylines throughout its run...I also liked the flaws to DCI Frost, the humour showed in his nicking food of other staff, getting Mullet annoyed or annoying him on purpose, or avoiding him, or trying to but getting caught etc...one of the saddest was when he sacrificed his promotion when he assaults a paedophile out of sheer outrage...

First Class show.Obviously some people thought it outdated,But it was good viewing top acting by David Jason. The reason it got axed was because David Jason got ridiculed for Playing a Detective that looked at least 70 years old.I actually was late getting into the show and have still got loads to try and catch up with.Another show i like was Pie in the sky with Richard Griffiths.See link for details.

I didn't watch too much TOF but my Mum really liked it.

I was really into Pie In The Sky, a bit easier going for a crime series.

I love it. The best thing about it is 'Denton' is my home cities. It's like a snapshot in time looking at how things used to be and what shops and pubs were around.

            Where was it filmed Sly?

I must admit, it ended when it should have - all the actors agreed that realistically they should have been pensioned off years ago. I didn't like Toollan being bumped off in the final episode though, I liked him. The actor playing him said 'Denton' was like Reading - it had its good parts and then there were the 'darker' parts - quite an apt description as I come from Reading and there are some bad areas here too.

It was filmed in Yorkshire, mainly Wakefield, but also the surrounding towns and cities.

This is where a body was found, it was full of bin bags in the show, but in real life it's actually a ginnel. http://g.co/maps/zv4dj

This was the background of one of the scenes. It used to be an old Odeon cinema. It's been closed for a long time now, going on for 10 year, probably even more. http://g.co/maps/vmxht

The episode with the Down Syndrome and the missing girl had parts filmed in the park here. http://g.co/maps/397cn

There's loads of other places as well, some that I can't pin point on maps, and others where street view isn't available because there are no roads down where they filmed. Some areas sadly don't exist any more too, the indoor market was pulled down and so was the outdoor area. One of the many cafes Frost frequented in the series burnt to the ground and had to be pulled down.

I was confused because in the earlier ones it looked like Denton was in Yorkshire, but when I caught a later one repeated recently a divisional map showed towns in the Oxfordshire - Berkshire area.
