Everyone loves Friday, right? Well, last Friday was extra-special as it saw the official relaunch of one of our favourite ever sweets. The Wham bar has returned and in keeping up with the times has its own Facebook page here, which has been celebrated by the Twist & Pulse dance troupe putting on impromptu performances all across London.
Of course, we know what you really want to hear - is it exactly the same as it was in the 80s? Is it as chewy, the same good value for money and as full of flavour? Well, despite being taken over by a new British-based manufacturer, Tangerine Confectionary (the people behind Sherbet Fountains, Black Jacks and Refreshers, you won't be disappointed when you sink your teeth into this bad boy. Today's Wham line-up features Original, Raspberry, Cola, Sour Apple and Bew mixed fruit flavour bars, while you can also look forward to Mega Wham bars being released in September. But nothing else has changed: the bars are the same size, with the same retro wrapper and the same fizzy bits making your tongue tingle. Plus, at 29p for a mega bar, they are truly bargainous (though admittedly inflation has upped this from the measly 10p we used to pay out of our pocket money)!
We expect John Prescott has already been stocking up after making a name as the first senior politician to back the return of the Wham bar.
Enjoy!
