  • Best sandwich (toasted or untoasted) as a kid

Untoasted would have to be cheese and ketchup. Still love it today and all my kids make it for themselves so it can't be that bad. We used to add a few crisps as well and that took the sarnie to a whole new level of enjoyment

I'll also throw in bacon and tomato sandwich spread (came in little glass containers and there different varieties) and egg 'n' cress (first ever sandwich I made at my First school).

We didn't get a sandwich toaster until pretty late but once it arrived untoasted sandwiches were history; cheese and marmite, baked beans & cheese, plain cheese. We ate a lot of cheese growing up!

I really like a cheese & ham toastie with BBQ sauce.

I either make in a George Foreman grill or simply by toasting the bread, putting the filling in, then microwaving it for 30 seconds to melt the cheese.

Good question this one. I would have to say Dairylea triangles. I loved opening those up and I was very enamoured with the cow on the label from the 80s. CNot quite the same now. I loved spreading it on the bread myself. It usually ended up with a giant lump in the middle and nothing on the edges!

Loved crisp sarnies as a kid. Especailly when made with cheese and onion crisps. Favourite toasted sarnie had/has to be corned beef and onion. Sometimes with a bit of tomato ketchup spread on them too. Love em!

I don't think you could beat the old Bacon and Sausage or Bacon with Sausage and Egg or any of those 3 combined. Though Egg alone was great mixed from an Egg!!

These day's they don't know how great it was to mash the Egg and add Salad Cream or Mayo ... not like these modern spreads from Supermarkets which are good (but not patch on making it yourself) I think

As well a great Fried Egg Sarny with rough edges to the Egg (crunchily was great too) especially with Red sauce added in abundment - deserves an hounourable mention I think.

Untoasted : white bread, sausages cut down the middle, ketchup
