My mum told me she heard about an actor passing away on the radio last night, she couldn't remember his name but heard him described as a 'gentle giant'. I popped onto BBC news on the red button and was shocked to see the actor in question was Michael Clarke Duncan. I got round to watching The Green Mile fully not too long ago, what a film, it certainly stayed with me long after I'd watched it. John Coffey must be one of cinema's greatest characters and what an unforgettable performance from Michael, he seemed like a really good bloke and carved out quite the career for himself.

RIP Michael.
