  • Bob Dylan covers

Now to be honest I don't like Bob Dylan or his voice so I'm not great on his songs BUT I do love Adele's version of one of his songs, in fact I loved it . Just wondering if there are any other great Dylan covers out there ?

Too many to mention, but two of my favourites are You Ain't Goin' Nowhere by the Byrds & Roy Harper's Girl From The North Country.

Chrissie Hynde - "I Shall Be Released"
Neil Young - "Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues"
Rage Against the Machine - "Maggie's Farm"
Norah Jones - "I'll Be Your Baby Tonight"
George Harrison - "If Not For You"
Jerry Garcia Band - “Simple Twist of Fate”
      Lou Reed "Foot of Pride"
Doc and Merle Watson “Don't Think Twice, It's Alright”
Van Morrison and Them - "It's All Over Now Baby Blue"
Mitch Ryder - "Like a Rolling Stone"
Nina Simone "The Ballad of Hollis Brown"
Sam Cooke - "Blowing in the Wind"
Pearl Jam - "Masters of War"
Tracy Chapman "The Times They Are A-Changin'"
Indigo Girls - "Tangled Up in Blue"
      Patti LaBelle "Forever Young"
The White Stripes - "One More Cup of Coffee"
Antony & The Johnsons - "Knockin' On Heaven's Door"
Jimi Hendrix - "All Along the Watchtower"

Now although i think there are some really good cover versions in the list, I will always prefer to hear Dylan sing his songs........he is the master

I enjoyed Emerson Lake & Palmer's very dark and moody version of The Man in the Long Black Coat.

Rod Stewart's cover of Girl From the North Country.

And I love Bryan Ferry's Dylanesque album.

Guns n roses did 'knockin' on heavens door' some real justice.

And a current folk band called "show of hands" do a good version of "señor". Worth a look on YouTube.

As a Dylan fan (and definitely not a fan of Adele) I get irrationally irritated when people say 'make you feel my love' is an Adele song !

I wish people would stop raving about Adele's (whom I think is the most overrated talent currently) version of 'Make You Feel My Love'. Bryan Ferry's version is far superior.

Some great picks in this thread. My favourite is Jim James (of My Morning Jacket) and Calexico's version of Going To Acapulco.
