Grease was amazing when it came out in '78.
The euphoria in the playground. I knew a friend at school who viewed it 6 times at the cinema. And we were just beginning to discover girls, so Olivia Newton John was hot.

I don't think anyone mentioned a film called Tommy, starring Roger Daltrey. I remember it been advertised in the London Underground as a child. I saw it some years later. Brilliant film.

Grease was such an iconic film - it was on Sky Musicals over Christmas and I saw it again last Sunday evening on there. Fitting that Dame Olivia Newton-John had got the damehood in the New Year Honours List as well.

I recommend seeing it at the theatre if you haven't done so already.

It was on Channel 5 on Christmas Day, and I saw the odd ten minutes of it as I was flicking through the channels.

I noticed that Gentleman Prefer Blondes is on one of the Channel 4 owned movie channels on Monday - I love that courtroom scene with Monroe sitting down in that brown mink coat that she is wearing.
