Question 1970's Trading cards / stickers

I grew up in the 70's and still think that the 1970's was a great decade.

I am looking for some trading cards/stickers but I can't remember what they were called.
They looked like they could have been the UK version of MAD cards, and of course they came with a flat piece of hard chewing gum. They weren't connected to a TV show or movie but they were just illustrations of monster / Alien / crazy kid charactures. I'm guessing they came out around 1976 -79.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

    Thanks
    Gav

    Hi Heather,

Thanks for your reply. Not garbage pail kids unfortunately.
I'm in the UK if that helps.

I remember that there used to be Dracula cards out at about the same time. Dracula cards had pictures of Christopher Lee biting people.
