        You can actually ask it to run on earlier versions of Windows
        Right click then hit "Troubleshoot Compatibility"

          I had one that will run under Windows XP but couldn't get the sound to work.

                I'm using windows 7.....and a little icon has appeared down by the clock at the bottom with a link to windows 10 ( it says 'get windows 10' ) on it.....where did that come from ???

                    Did use a computer with windows 1 once... tried to get a copy but could not.... it was pretty **** tbh, but ms did well enough out of it.

                        To go off topic a wee bit - I use Office 2013 at work but keep an old PC handy with Windows XP and Office 2002 on it for the occasional compatibility issues with colleagues still on XP.

                        I always try to avoid using Office 2002 if I can because whenever I do I am reminded of how it beats that stupid ribbon tool bar hands down.

                        I have fond memories of XP, but I can accept changes to windows a lot more easily than to Office.
