    Who owned a pair? I'm not sure that you could even buy 'em, but I did have some fashioned from old wooden fence posts. Not high though, only a couple of feet off the ground (in every sense of the word) but I could stand up on them and toddle about. Good fun, although I always wanted a proper big pair.

      Learned to walk on stilts in the 1970s as a 30 year old at a circus school to realise and childhood dream. Still enjoying peg stilts and now 65 years old. Use 20 inch, 24 inch, 30 inch and 36 inch high stilts. Sometimes teach much younger people the thrill of being up high.

        I'm with you Heather, I had tin can ones. Catering size coffee tins with rope attached.
