Dog from Childrens TV show?

Hello Everyone

I am having trouble identifying this very familiar dog and I think it was from a childrens TV Show. As my children were born mid seventies it could have been then, however being nearly 60 my mind may be playing tricks on me.

In any event if I could find out anything about this dog it would be a help.

He does look very familiar ,and for some reason the word Wish springs to mind, I'll keep thinking

Having seen the second pic, I'd say it's not TV related at all. Just a novelty item
