M & S closing 30 stores with 45 possibly to be downgrading is a result of lack of car parking in town centres.Well there wont be much shops left open in towns due to out of town shopping with free parking.More boarded up places then making towns more run down

A few years ago I was watching a repeat of Carrott's Commercial Breakdown which was made in the mid 1990s, and towards the end of the episode, I was rather shocked at how accurately spot on Jasper Carrott's observations were - he was accurately predicting 2005 a good few years before it actually happened!

Carrott mentioned that by the time the episode was repeated again, Labour would win a third term in government, and that Prince Charles would marry Camilla - spot on observations for 2005! The only thing he got wrong was the fact that he said that it would be repeated on UK Gold - he was wrong about that because it had been repeated on Bravo, and it was just after 2005 as well.

I thought that Evans was going to leave after a couple of years in the Radio 2 Breakfast slot - I was half expecting him to play truant half the time just like he did from the Big Breakfast when he was coincidently ill on the same day that he was expecting a new Ferrari to be delivered to his mansion, and of course when he wanted to skive off from Radio 1 on Fridays, during his TFI seasons.

Kids no longer watching (broadcast) TV. They watch videos on YouTube now. Freeview? It's what my grandparents watch!

The internet not just becoming popular but taking over our lives. I was informed by a former engineer from Philips that their corporate policy back in 2000 was that the internet would never become anywhere near as popular as broadcast TV nor function as a significant conveyor of video materials. How wrong were they.

More kids owning an internet enabled digital device than owning a bike.

More like the end of pages from abandoned porno mags in parks etc. A common feature of towns in the 1990s that has all but vanished.

There is a theory that the internet only became popular because of porn.

That has always happened in a way - I pay Severn Trent Water for my water bill, and I fill bottles up when I turn the tap on.

It's the cheap way of doing it, mind you.

Despite having the cleanest mains fed water supply in the world Britons spend a staggering 2 billion pounds a year on bottled water, if you spend £1 on a bottle of water it is equivalent to (wait for it)10,000 litres of mains fed water. (source daily telegraph)
