  • Clifford T Ward

How many albums and songs by Clifford T Ward, apart from GAYE can anyone remember, no cheating and Wikipedia-ing and kidding on you really do remember him.
One of the most under-rated singer songwriters in the history of the universe, i believe he was so unknown because he wouldn't tour so no-one bothered with him which is such a shame cos his albums contain some beautiful stuff. FACT!!!!!!

Home Thoughts From Abroad is one of the best love songs ever written. I also love Not Waving-Drowning, and Scullery. Truly one of the greatest singer songwriters to come out of the UK.

My sister had a Clifford T Ward album that included the songs mentioned by Tonstu04 (although I'm not sure about Not Waving-Drowning). I think the album was called Home Thoughts. The only songs I clearly remember are Gaye and Scullery.

Yes I rate Clifford as a ... Romantic ... songwriter a guy who put women up on a pedastal
and wrote romantic songs about them ....
he s up there with ...
            Paul Mac
            Justin Hayward
            Burt Bacharrach

Some of his songs were gorgeous but he wasn’t exactly prolific.. was he ??

I downloaded his best songs a while back and didn’t get close to filling an 80 minutes cd
