        Re: Pot Noodles

I've read this through and the mention of cheese and tomato ones rang a bell but I knew it wasn't pot noodle, finally the realisation dawned that the smelly and disgusting concoction I was thinking of was a powdered baby food I used to give to my kids.

Talking of which who remembers the rice and apricot heinz baby food in a tin, it was lovely, I took some on a school trip to Paris.

I used to like them but when the kids were little I tried the bananna version and was disappointed.

I think that's a top tip Daz - saves the hassle of washing, peeling, stewing and straining those apples for Apple Sauce yourself !! Bet a small jar/can of the baby food would cost less and be less wasteful too

Its perfect. I don't make Pork at home, but if I did, I would not dream of having it without the baby apple sauce

At least I can't remember the tune anymore...

Chicken and mushroom Pot Noodle is still something I crave now from time to time.

And add in the comments about Farleys Rusks, and I'm thinking about a whole new dipping combo!

                            Re: Pot Noodles

I got so excited as a kid when i was bought my very own pot noodle....gawddd sad i know, but it was such a big thing, it was a chicken and mushroom one from a supermarket called Hillards.

I felt like Charlie Bucket when he bought his chcolate bar ...everyone stood around as we waited for the kettle to boil haha you get the picture.

The one i could not stand was the sweet and sour one, the last thing i ate before i got appendicitus.

There was also Potmash, never tried it tho.

And im sure out at the same time Quicksnack...maybe by Knorr, not sure tho.

                            Terrier.

I remember with great affection Snackpots, which I thought were much nicer than Pot Noodle. Not sure if they predated Pot Noodle though.

Now you're talking . I LOVE curry flavour Super Noodles (with added curry and chilli powder etc, yum). Great comfort food. I've never had a pot noodle though. Are they suitable for vegetarians? If yes I'll get one the next time I do a shop. What flavour would you recommend for a beginner?
