  • Stumped on this 70's show.

I remeber as kid watching this show on PBS. It had the lions sleeps tonight as the theme song. (If I am not mistaken)and had these kid puppets that got on a space ship. Anyone remeber this show as well.

    Thanks in advance.

You're not thinking of Animal Crackers are you? There was a spaceship involved in the opening credits of that, and a lion too, though the theme tune was somewhat different, as I recall...

'Do you believe in rock and roll?
Into the starship and off we go!
Here we come to Pop Land... here we come to Pop Land..
      Animal Crackers! Animal Crackers!
      Bungo(?), Rory, Twang(?) and Zoom(?)
Animal Crackers! Animal Crackers... ' etc.

      Cheers

Omg maybe used to think that/this was kool and groovy kinda like a British Banana Splits I thought at the time, somewhere I've still got the storybook, flaotaing around at my moms.

            Hi guys...

You have now officially freaked me out cause when I was 7 I saw 'the Animal Kwackers Roadshow (kwackers not Crackers!)..lol lol.. it was like seeing 1970's Kiss!! they came out of a Spaceship onto the stage with lots of Dry ice and the Tiger with the HUGE head played guitar, they did lots of rock and rock and roll classics (they had an album out too around 1975 that I had at the time!)..very trippy and it was great..on the TV show they had a Story section that went ,'Rory,Rory Tell us a story, Rory,Rory tell it like it is'!!!!! lol..

The theme tune went..Animal Kwackers Animal Kwackers bungo, rory Twang and BOOTS!!!!! lol

Guess it was my first 'music gig' then!! lol...

Go here to see them or find ourt more...lol

I am looking for the name of this show, too!

It showed mostly on PBS. It had puppet kids traveling around in a homemade spaceship.

                        Anybody?
