Well we're both 1978 babies, so it's not surprising!

The Thompson Twins don't seem to have had the kind of critical revaluation a few of the better 1980s groups have.

I like most of their material, but they seemed to lose their edge after Joe Leeway left.

The Thompson Twins got their names from the characters in the Tintin cartoon series, which makes the name Stephen "Tintin" Duffy ironic as well.

My brother used to think it was an odd name because they were 3 of them & too different to be twins.

You were probably born in the same academic year as me and Richard if your birthday was between September and December in 1977.

I was reading Stephen Tin Tin Duffy's wikipedia the other day. Apparently he was also known as Dr Calculus. He must have had quite a thing about Tin Tin!

Absolute '80s has a pretty good selection of songs.

Last Saturday on Magic I head Live It Up by Mental as Anything, which I've no heard at all in the last 30 years.

It was recorded & released in Australia in 1985, but wasn't a hit here until it was featured on the Crocodile Dundee soundtrack.

They play "Live It Up" quite often on Absolute 80s.

I don't think I've heard Pseudo Echo's cover of Lipps, Inc.'s "Funky Town" on the radio for at least a decade
