      Re: Very American

The rides that used to be at Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch were sold to some traveling carnival companies and I understand they have a plaque on them stating its provenance.

Some I know wasn't allowed to go to any travelling funfairs when she was young as her Mum was worried they hadn't been put together right.

Back then Richard we weren't so 'elf & safety obsessed so maybe her Mum was right. Nowadays all travelling & static funfairs have to be ADIPS inspected before being open to the public

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

Looking through this thread, one programme not mentioned, Sesame Street.

                        Red Plastic Cups

Seen at many a party, picnic and other gatherings. The funny part is that I never really thought of them as being quintessentially American until I read about USA-themed parties in Europe in which these cups are practically the centrepiece.
