  • Your Parents Best Tea sets etc

Just thought of this one,When my parents got married the wedding presents they had was a boxed canteen of cutlery, cotton tablecloths & Napkins,Bone china tea set cake stand etc.

The only time it was brought out and used was when visitors or family came to tea I mean they came from a working class background, but liked to be showing off when we had guests.

Looking back it was nice to see these things brought out on display, rather than being hidden out of the way in a cupboard for most of the time.

Today we use mugs in our house,we use a teapot about once a day.How things have changed our parents did make more of an effort than we do today.

I even remember my mum using sugar cubes with posh bone china.Even the milk was put in the bone china milk jug
