                    Tickle on the Tum
                    Tickle on the What?
                    Look down there's Tickle Town
                    And there's the River Tum,
Oh Yeah, Tickle on the Tum!

                    TICKLE ON THE TUM (1982-4)
                    GRANADA

"TICKLE ON THE WHAT?" Overweening whimsy for small children set in the shop of a stereotypical English hamlet and touched by the dread hand of singer RALPH "STREETS OF LONDON" McTELL. A different professional character (postman, teacher etc) dropped by each week for the usual song 'n' story treatment. McTell's ALPHABET ZOO of the same era did one animal per letter per show, inevitably struggling towards the end. 'TUM attained tiny immortality via outtake freaturing KENNY LYNCH in "hilarious" postman-milkman confusion.

Mysterious Cities Of Gold was a good cartoon. I remember watching that when I came home from school.

Was that the one where they were searching for their father, the one with blue eyes? I liked that too.
