Thread: When Britain had manufacturing

    Default When Britain had manufacturing

What companies did we remember from 1970s

Hoover in Merthyr Tydfil made washing machines, vacums etc.

Hotpoint had a factory in North Wales

Addis made brushes washing up bowls etc.

Burberry had a factory in Mid glamorgan somewhere

Think when this country had factories in towns up and down the country making products, from electrical goods to clothing, toys etc until the places shut down and transfered to China for cheap labour.

When the coal mines shut they turned the areas into housing and out of town shopping
