They'd never do it now but my Mum always gave me the jelly from tinned ham to eat - I used to LOVE it. What is it made from? or don't I want to know

RP maybe a Scottish thing but a HIgh Tea was/is a main dish ie fish and chips with tea and toast followed by scones and jam followed by cream cakes. Graet when you were young but cant face them now!!!

Like quite a few of you I was brought up on:-

Lemon curd buttys (I still eat them)
Luncheon meat (Would'nt eat it now if you payed me)
                Jam buttys
                Banana buttys

Potato hash (Love it with loads of beetroot and red cabbage)
                Fish fingers
Homemade chips covered with Oxtail soup with loads of bread to make chip buttys.

Jelly (Loads of them I don't eat them anymore)
                Instant whip (Still love them)
Homemade Rice Pudding with a horrible skin on top (Dont eat that anymore)
I don't think I ate the Rice Pudding back then realy,I know i used to moan when my mum was making it........

                    Hi Everyone,
Just joined this fantastic site......does anyone remember getting drunk on Thunderbird Red or Blue as a young teenager. I was sick for days as a 13 year old trying to join in with the older kids! Foolish child (nothing changes!!)

I used to have lobby a lot as a kid.Other food I enjoyed was my dad's homemade meat and potato pie.
My mum used to do me cheese and onion ,grilled on a tin plate when I came home from school for lunch. That's still one of my favourites now.

Is Eggy Bread the classy name for French Toast?
