  • What was the name Of the 1970s Book Club at schools?

Hi I grew up in the 1970s and went to the juniors in early 70s, can anyone remember at the end of every month or two months the teachers would dish out these pamphlets which had books in them for us to take home hoping our parents would buy them, most kids throw them away but I've been trying to remember who the book people were back then and my aim is to try and but one of these 1970s pamphlets , ironically there were loads of these in the bins back then in our school or you parents would just throw them away but can anyone remember these and enlighten me?

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

I had two: one on dinosaurs and one about Louis Braille.

I remember Scholastic and had a few books through them. I seem to remember that they had some books published in the USA, one of which was on strange mysteries, which I had. Maybe it was an American company?

Chip club & Lucky club! Well remembered. You saved me a lot of brain ache. They were still a thing when I left junior school in late 80's and I think may still be.
