  • Happy new year, a quick question.......

    Hi all,

I have trawled the internet trying to find the name of this show. It was an 80's BBC Christmas children's drama. In it a teenage ginger cockney urchin boy is befriended by someone and I remember he has a wash in a tin bath. That's all I remember, there may have been some magic involved too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

It sounds like The December Rose.

I remember the boy was a sweep's boy & got the nickname Barnacle & was rescued by a sailor.

Early on he had a bath to wash all the soot of him, & no-one could recognise him afterwards.

Barnacle had a locket as a keepsake, which I think played an important part in the story.
