  • Eugene Cernan

Eugene Cernan, the last man to stand on the moon, has died aged 82. He was the commander of Apollo 17. He was the eleventh man to walk on the moon. The 12th man was Harrison Schmitt. Has commander of Apollo 17, he was the last man to re-enter the module before returning to Earth. I was five year old when this happened. To this day, I have high regard for all astronauts, or spacemen has I called them then. Another part of my childhood wonder has now gone. Eugene Cernan, R.I.P.

Same here, especially the earlier ones who were taking a real leap of faith on their missions.
