Really sad. Watched a classic episode over breakfast this morning. Kaye's timing was spot-on and his worried glances at Lt Gruber were hilarious.
Allo Allo took the traditional comedy farce to a whole new level and, in today's politically correct world, I doubt if we'll ever see its like again.

            Re: Au revoir, au revoir

Sad news, I was a fan of Allo Allo for most of it's run.

Gordon was great as Rene, normally being a straight man to the rest of the cast.

Gordon also played the coach driver in the film spin-off of Porridge. The coach brought in a football team to play against the lags as a cover for an escape

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

Gorden also played a local news presenter in Last Of The Summer Wine, when Compo got the chance to appear on TV as a local eccentric feature.

This was very sad news indeed to know about Gordon's passing

How Gordon played Rene in Allko, Allo summarises/sums up Gordon's great acting skills I think
