Who remembers the Stonehenge festival each June where the New Age Travellers & other festival lovers carried on to Glastonbury festival?

1984 was the last festival; whereas the 1985 festival was banned by our lovely Police force.

1985 was the Battle of the Beanfield where Wiltshire Constabulary called on the entire uk police force to stop the festival

I'll try to keep this family orientated but the entire uk police went about smashing up the NAT's coaches & buses. These were not mere buses & coaches; they were peoples homes.

One case where the police stormed in on a bus there was a mother & toddler. Did the police reign back? No. They smashed the windows to arrest the occupants.

There was only one police officer who had any sense: He was a chief inspector (or some similar rank) who told the Peace Convoy (New Age Travellers) if they drove out onto the main road & turned right there was a quarry a few miles away. They could park up there.

Up until & including 1984 farmer Michael Eavis allowed the Peace Convoy to set up in one of his fields for free. Some time later Michael Eavis withdrew the offer due to suspected trouble by the Peace Convoy

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.
