Have you noticed companies who operate trucks nowadays call themselves Logistic companies?

    Logistics? lol

You are a haulage company; what's logistics got to do with it? lol

Also in the 70's at least new trucks were delivered with no cab or bodywork. You would see them on the motorway with the driver in a big coat driving what was just the frame of the truck and an engine of course.

Nowadays elf & safety legislation would not allow that. The trucks would have to have a cab at the very least

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

The open chassis you've seen would have been for coaches. They're now delivered by transporter.

Some transport companies also deal with warehousing & supply chains so I guess they needed a name with more scope.
