  • The Shiralee

The Shiralee is quite similar to the movie Paper Moon

An Australian drifter goes state to state looking for work. He calls on his ex-wife hooker. He see's Buster their daughter has been drugged so she is asleep when her mother entertains. He takes Buster with him and they go state to state together

Buster holds him back thus being a Shiralee (a burden)

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

    Re: The Shiralee

Peter Finch played the lead role of Jim Macauley in the original Brit production of The Shiralee back in 1957. Australian television remade it with Bryan Brown as Macauley in a 1987 mini series. It was set during the Great depression when men had to rome the bush in search of whatever work they could find. Macauley is forced to bring his daughter with him which creates some problems for him as he is a fancy free type of bloke. The film was apapted from the novel by Australian author Darcy Niland.
