    Re: RIP Hywel Bennett

Very sad news. He was a very good actor who starred in many iconic films and TV programmes. RIP.

I was rewatching Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy just the other week, where he appeared as rogue spy Ricky Tarr.

I thought he was excellent in things like The Virgin Soldiers, The Family Way, Malice Aforethought, Shelley and the controversial Twisted Nerve.

I loved Shelley! I also think he was great in Twisted Nerve, which I only saw for the first time recently...

              Very sad indeed.
Been a bad 24 hrs or so for deaths.

Looking him up on imdb he had plenty of work didnt go too long without doing something.

Was he in The Family Way along with Hayley Mills?

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

Yes, he was. Also starred her dad, Sir John Mills. It used to turn up fairly often on BBC1 in their late night film slots, but I haven't seen it in a while.

He was also in a creepy film from 1972 called Endless Night. A girl would sing the Doors song End Of The Night (the lyrics referred to an "endless night") all the time, in a very haunting manner!
