    And the better known one:

'Grandad' by Clive Dunn who played Lance Corporal Jones in Dad's Army TV series
They both remind me of another one that is frequently played on Gold's Number Ones at One - Matchstalk Men and Matchstalk Cats and Dogs by Brian and Michael. I think they had the same producers as the Winifred's School Choir song.
I've everything I need to keep me satisfied
There's nothing you can do to make me change my mind
    I'm having so much fun
    My lucky number's one
    Ah! Oh! Ah! Oh!

St Winifred's School Choir sang back up on Matchstalk Men and Matchstalk Cats and Dogs.

A few years later Clare Usher a pupil at St Winifred's had a hit with It's Horrible Being In Love When You Are 8 & a Half.

I knew there was some connection, but couldn't put my finger on it.

          The Cars - Drive

According to Radio 2 this is the only song they ever recorded !

We get to hear this back to back from now to New Year's Eve

Bobby Helms -- "Jingle Bell Rock"
Burl Ives -- "Holly Jolly Christmas"
Various Artists -- "My Favorite Things" (originally from the movie "The Sound of Music," how that became a Christmas song I have no idea)
            Jose Feliciano -- "Feliz Navidad"

Though regarding the last one I do like this version

I think that it is up to midnight on 27th December when radio stations stop playing Christmas songs, although Pick of the Pops-style programmes probably still play them for a week or so.

It is horrible - you have to wait at least eight years before you can get married.

I rarely listen to music on the radio anymore. However, Slade's Merry Christmas Everybody used to infuriate me when I would listen at Christmas. I just don't like that song at all and it used to get played a lot.

I think that the Xmas spelling in the song's title would be more likely to infuriate people - it's a pity that Noddy and Co didn't spell it like you just did.

Interesting that these songs are rarely, if ever played in the UK at this time of year. Jingle Bell Rock occasionally pops up and it's one that really grates on me. It only has 18 lines yet manages to mention jingle 17 times. Lazy stupid lyrics and an annoying tune to boot!

I'm wrong, I counted again, 18 lines and jingle mentioned 19 times! That's even worse!

The Verve's Bitter-Sweet Symphony, that's got to go in room 101. Overplayed and as droney as hell.

I am not certain whether that is the original but I really like the original of that. I know that Boney M did a cover version of that which I didn't think much of, unlike their version of Mary's Boy Child.

If not as if Christmas songs are played all year round you know.

                              I've got a new one!

Dire Straits -- Walk Of Life
I call it the Supermarket Song cause that's where I always hear it.
