.........are SICK TO DEATH of hearing.

Mrs PW has radio 2 on everywhere we go, especially in the car with Michael Ball/Alfie Ball making an occasional appearance on CD. Aaaargh !

What songs are you sick of hearing ?

I'll start.....(sorry if some of these offend anybody) :

    Eagles - Hotel California
Roy Orbison - Drive all Night

Billy Joel - Uptown Girl. It is such an annoying song.

    Dr Hook - Sylvia's Mother.

I won't include any Christmas songs as we don't hear them all year round.

James Brown -- I Feel Good
      Dobie Gray -- Drift Away
      John Lennon -- Imagine
Bob Seger -- Old Time Rock N' Roll

Among the most overplayed songs on the oldies stations out here.

That damn James Brown song, yes agreed, but no to Bob Seger. Over here nobody knows who he is (except me and my brother). Jim Croce you never hear over here either, although I agree that song grates after a while.

This will shock a few (including me) :

Fleetwood Mac's 'The Chain' and 'Don't Stop'. On all the time, just become a drone now.

And to think The Chain was a classic, ground breaking even, when it appeared in the 70's, it's been played to death.

Any modern song that samples the sound of another song from 30 or 40 years ago.

Anything that Smooth radio plays right now. Seems like they only have about 10 songs on their playlist!

Same songs every single day, year in year out

The main problem is that radio stations only have a limited number of songs to play, and so that's why you seem to hear the same ones all the time. That is the case with Smooth and Gold anyway. Some are welcome as one almost expects which songs they will be playing, but when it is one that I don't like - that something different entirely.

Around five or six years ago, we were around ten days before Christmas, and there were three different radio stations - they were all separately playing Slade's Merry Xmas Everybody, and one of them was Radio 2. The two commercial radio stations were different to each other, yet they coincidentally played that song within two minutes of each other. Needless to day, it wouldn't have happened a few weeks before or after for all the obvious reasons...

Now it's that time of year again, any old Christmas song. I'm not scrooge but this time of year really get's my back up musically.

'There's No One Quite Like Grandma; by the Winifred's School Choir

                            And the better known one:

'Grandad' by Clive Dunn who played Lance Corporal Jones in Dad's Army TV series

Do you really believe the other side without provocation would launch so many ICBM's, subs and ships knowing that we would have no option to launch as well? It would break our MAD Treaty (Mutually Assured Destruction) not to mention the end of the world as we know it.

I listen to some of the oldies stations mentioned about & they seem to play enough different songs not to get on my nerves.
