    2: Prince of Darkness?

Sorry mine have taken so long. Is a while since I have seen some of these films. I now have them all in my film library since updating to Bluray prints. So time to revist them as they are classics.

What happened to my other questions?

3: Who played the elderly woman devoured by ravenous cats in The Uncanny.

4: Who played the judge in Blood On Satans Claw.

5: '68 witchcraft tale with the great Christopher Lee and an American horror icon.

6: Name the segment and film from which this screenshot is taken. 7: Name the actress on the stairs.

Here are the answers to the last quiz:

            2. Kiss of the Vampire. If you haven't seen this one it is well worth watching and has one of the best pre-titles sequences Hammer made. It gets a bit of stick for the climatic bat attack but actually I find the sight of those bats feeding from the vampires rather chilling.

            3. David Peel played Baron Meinster in Brides of Dracula.

            6. The recurring character from Dracula AD1972 and Satanic Rites of Dracula was Inspector Murray, played by Michael Coles in both films.

            7. Raquel Welch played Loana in One Million Years BC. Also watch out for Sister Hyde herself, Martine Beswick, in a supporting role.

            Your quiz:

            1. That must be Haunted House of Horror with Frankie Avalon. Not a good film imo. Frankie should have brought Annette Funicello along for the ride and turned it into Haunted Beach Party of Horror...much more fun.

            2. Linda Hayden from Blood on Satan's Claw. I know the scene you mean, Donald

            3. That would be Joan Greenwood.

            4. Patrick Wymark. Another fine character actor who left us far too early.

            5. I think that is Curse of the Crimson Altar with Boris Karloff in one of his last decent roles.

I will get back to you for 6. and 7. ...

Edward de Souza.. Kiss of the Vampire? Not among my favs. I notioned the inspector.. but was thrown by the fact it was at the request of a spy network. Never heard of David Peel. Loana ok. That was a poor effort on my part.

The pic is, I believe, the Sweets to the Sweet segment from house that Dripped Blood and I think that is Nyree Dawn Porter on the stairs.

An interesting fact about Kiss of the Vampire is that its bat climax was originally slated for the earlier Brides of Dracula, but the Cush objected that Van Helsing being a man of science wouldn't carry out black magic rituals to conjure up killer bats, so they saved it for Kiss.

Ok...I will come up with some more.

                          1. Yes.

                          2. Yes, set on fire then falls into a vat of acid.

                          3. Yes.

                          4. Dr Terror is their first horror, but their first film was It's Trad, Dad.

                          5. Yes. The 5 are Face of Fu Manchu, Brides of Fu Manchu, Vengeance of Fu Manchu, Blood of Fu Manchu and Castle of Fu Manchu. Castle's quality can be judged by the fact that it turned up on an episode of MST3K.

I've seen a lot of Hammer but never gotten into it enough to buy the magazines or keep all the titles straight. I thought the tv series was great too.

I was looking over some old comic books recently and in Iron Man in the late 1970s there was a villain for a few issues named Hammer and the character looked exactly like Peter Cushing!
